Free and Pro
What a free account can do, what the 3-day trial covers, and what Pro adds.
Free — Floating Lyrics, the full Lyrics Window, and automatic lyrics. Pro — the other three overlays, choosing the lyrics yourself, album artwork behind the words, sharing, and translation.
9xLyrics runs without a subscription. A free account gets the thing the app is for: the words to whatever is playing, in time, over whatever you are doing. It keeps the tray, every keyboard shortcut, launch at login, click-to-seek, and the timing controls. The limits are on how many overlays you can run at once, on choosing the lyrics yourself when the automatic match is wrong, and on the decorative treatments.
The 3-day trial
Creating a UID inside the app starts a 3-day trial with everything below unlocked. See Your UID and devices.
When the trial ends nothing is deleted, and nothing you chose is forgotten. The account returns to the free tier, and every Pro setting you turned on stays saved — a gradient you picked, the widget style, the menu bar mode. Pay later and they all come back exactly as they were, without setting anything up again.

Free
- Floating Lyrics — the current line, always on top, over any window.
- The Lyrics Window — the whole song, with click-to-seek to jump to a line.
- Automatic lyrics from the default source, and your own local
.lrcfiles. - Timing — the global delay, and a per-song offset that is remembered.
- Appearance — theme, accent colour, interface size, and a solid background behind the lyrics.
- The tray menu, every keyboard shortcut, and launch at login.
Pro
- The other overlays. Free runs one overlay at a time. Pro runs the Mini Bar, Edge Strip and Widget as well, alone or together.
- Choosing the lyrics. Searching every source, previewing a result before you take it, and pinning a choice so that song always uses it. The automatic match is free; overruling it is Pro.

- The artwork treatment. Album art and album colours behind the words, the gradient presets, blur and dim, and the Widget's styles, size and opacity.
- Sharing. The share card composer and its exports.
- Translation and romanisation, where a source provides them.
- Highlight animation — the smooth fill across each word as it is sung. Static highlight colours and the karaoke view are free.
- Menu bar text on macOS — the song title or the current lyric in the menu bar. The icon on its own is free.
What a lapse does not do
A licence ending is not a reset:
- Lyrics you pinned to a song stay pinned, and come back with Pro.
- Per-song offsets and the global delay are untouched — they are free features.
- Every Pro setting stays chosen, just inactive. Nothing has to be set up twice.
- Overlays you had running are turned off rather than forgotten.
