Windows and shortcuts
The floating window, mini chat, and quick assistant, plus slash commands and keyboard shortcuts.
9xchat can stay out of the main window. Three surfaces put the assistant beside whatever you are actually working in, and all three need Pro.

They share your threads and models with the main window, so a conversation started in one continues in another.

Slash commands and quick actions
Typing in the composer, you can reach models, prompts, and tools by keyword rather than by opening a menu. Press / to focus the composer, then use a slash command or a quick action to pull in a prompt from the library or point the message at a particular model.
This is the fastest route into the prompts library, and it works on a free account.
Keyboard shortcuts
Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts lists every binding and is where you change them. Two worth learning first:
- ⌘F searches across chats and notes together.
- / jumps straight into the composer.
The hotkey that summons the quick assistant is set here too.
Screen capture and read out loud
Two more things that do not need the main window in front of you:
- Screen capture brings what is on screen into a conversation.
- Read out loud speaks a reply back to you.
