Settings
Appearance, output defaults, flows, drafts, conversion queues and platform-specific controls.
Open Settings on desktop, or More → Settings on Android. Android has its own settings list, including Share menu instead of desktop tray and keyboard controls.
Settings are kept when a trial or timed license ends. Free limits apply when work runs; a higher saved parallel setting or a saved Pro option does not override them.
Appearance
Both apps include 19 interface languages, system/light/dark appearance, accent choices and interface-size controls. Desktop also offers true black and reduced-motion options. Android appearance follows the controls offered on its own page. Reopen the setup guide here if you want to revisit first-run choices.
The general anchor is retained for installed app help links.
Defaults
Choose the preferred output formats for supported input types. A default is a starting choice, not a restriction: the row's format picker can choose another compatible output. Desktop and Android do not offer identical codec lists.
File naming
Set the default pattern and the Rename, Overwrite or Skip policy for normal conversions, including bulk runs. The initial setting keeps the existing naming behavior and never selects overwrite by default. New flows inherit this default unless you choose a naming override; existing flows retain their saved choice. See Output file naming for presets, grouped tokens, preview and warnings.
Flows
Manage your own flows, import or export them, and review the Free editing limit. Flows are local to each device, not synchronized through the UID. See flows and presets.
Drafts
Choose automatic or manual saving, whether to bring back the file list, and how long to retain drafts. The default retention is 30 days. Clearing drafts removes saved work settings, not the original media. See drafts.
Conversions
Parallel Conversions controls jobs running at once. Free uses one, while Pro uses the saved setting. Higher values need more memory, CPU and disk bandwidth.
The output Location sets the destination. Desktop uses a local folder, with Downloads as the default. Android can publish to internal storage, an available SD card volume or a folder selected through the system picker. Check Saved to on a result rather than assuming it follows the current setting.
Custom flows can carry their own output rules. See Library and storage.
Downloads
These controls affect Pro URL jobs, not local conversion. Desktop offers connections, parallel downloads, a shared speed limit in KB/s, and automatic download retry. A speed limit of zero means unlimited; a nonzero cap is shared across downloads and uses one connection per download.
Speed limiting and automatic download retry are Pro. Android does not have those desktop settings. Its Downloads page controls the options offered by the mobile download workflow.
Extraction
These options govern link lookup before downloading, including retry and result-count settings where offered. They do not make private, unavailable or unsupported content downloadable.
Backup Extractor
When the main extractor cannot resolve a link, Backup Extractor tries a second one before giving up, so more links turn into files on the first attempt. It is on by default and there is nothing to configure.
- Desktop: it runs on every URL job, with no separate switch or plan setting.
- Android: it is part of Pro and runs automatically during URL jobs with an active Pro license or trial.
See where desktop and Android differ.
Notifications
Choose which completion and failure notifications to show and send a test notification. Desktop notifications use the operating system's settings. Android also needs system notification permission; the page indicates when notifications are blocked and can open system settings.
Desktop
Desktop-only options include the tray or menu-bar icon, keeping active work running with the window hidden, and the file-manager right-click menu. Read desktop integration before changing close behavior.
Keyboard shortcuts
Desktop shortcuts can be rebound or reset from this section. They work while 9xConvert is active, not as global system shortcuts. See the default keys.
Android Share menu
Choose the built-in actions offered for local files shared to 9xConvert. Your own eligible flows in the share sheet need Pro. URL shares also need Pro. See Android sharing.
