9xchat is available on Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android, so you can use your AI workspace across desktop and mobile.

Do I need to sign up or log in to use 9xchat?

There is no sign-up: no email, no password, no form. On first run 9xchat shows you a UID — your account credential — and asks you to save it before continuing. Keep it somewhere private and backed up, because it cannot be recovered, and paste it into 9xchat on another device rather than creating a second one. See UID on three devices.

How quickly can I start using 9xchat?

You can start in under a minute. Install the app, open it, and begin right away with no login or API key required to try it.

Is 9xchat beginner-friendly?

No. You do not need an API key to try 9xchat. You get $1 in welcome tokens so you can explore the workspace first.

What are welcome tokens?

Welcome tokens are starter credits that let you try 9xchat before setting up your long-term usage. They help you explore the product without any commitment.

How does pricing work?

Two separate things: Pro unlocks the app's paid features, and credits pay for AI usage when you use 9xchat's own models.

• Pro — $5 a month, $25 a year, or $50 once for lifetime.
• Pro + AI — $15 a month including $12 of AI credits, or $45 a year including $30.
• Credits on their own — top up whenever you want. They do not expire.

You start with $1 in welcome credits. If you bring your own API key you pay your provider directly and need no 9xchat credits at all.

Can I bring my own API key?

Yes. 9xchat supports Bring Your Own Key for supported providers, giving you more flexibility and control over how you use the workspace.

Is 9xchat free?

You can use it without paying 9xchat anything: bring your own API key, or run a local model, and you pay your provider or nothing at all.
