Updates and versions

How 9xbuddy updates, why a new build often fixes a broken site, and what to include in a report.

Sites change how they serve media, sometimes without notice. Most "this link stopped working" reports are fixed by a build that already exists, which is why the version you are on is the first thing worth checking.

Check your version

The version is printed at the bottom of the left sidebar, under the icons — for example v3.4.9. Quote it in any support message.

How updates arrive

  • Desktop builds update themselves. When one is ready the app tells you; restart it to finish.
  • Microsoft Store builds update through the Store with your other apps.
  • Android builds update through Google Play.

You can always fetch the current build by hand from the download page, which is the source of truth for what is released.

When a site stops working

Update first. Extraction depends on how a site serves its media, so when a platform changes something, the fix ships as a new build rather than as a setting you can change.

If you are already on the current version and a source still fails, work through Troubleshooting before reporting it — the built-in browser and the fallback action resolve a good share of cases on their own.

What changed in each build

Release notes for every version are published at 123sudo.com/changelog/9xbuddy.

Reporting a problem

Send support:

  • your operating system,
  • the 9xbuddy version from the sidebar,
  • the source site, and the step that failed,
  • the exact visible error.

Never include your UID, cookies, custom headers, proxy credentials, or private media URLs in a report or screenshot.
